Paul Taberner

Paul Taberner has a strong, varied background in negotiation through law and commercial mediation. He works internationally across a wide range of industries including mining, steel, manufacturing, heavy equipment, forestry, insurance and land development. Paul draws on 40 plus years of experience to quickly assimilate client issues and work with them to provide a practical approach to obtaining better outcomes.

 

Experience
Paul’s professional background is law, commercial mediation and negotiation. He has also worked at the executive level corporately. He understands people and has strong instincts on how to craft a deal – a distinct advantage when consulting. As a former Adjunct Professor at UBC Law School he has honed his teaching and training skills. He is a mentor to new mediators and has authored articles on construction litigation, conflict resolution and negotiation.

 

Specialist Focus

Paul has written and spoken extensively on conflict resolution, communication and negotiation. As a past Board member of Mediate BC he has been instrumental in developing and implementing dispute resolution policy for British Columbia. With his strong business background Paul provides pragmatic insight and advice to guide clients as they develop negotiation and influencing strategies.
